Solitude Links Weddings

Posted in: Michigan Wedding Venues

Here’s the thing about Solitude Links weddings that nobody tells you about, this golf course venue doesn’t try to be something it’s not. It explains itself once you walk through the front doors to the back of the banquet hall and look out through the huge windows overlooking the rolling greens, mature trees. There is enough breathing room that your wedding day actually feels like yours instead of another cookie-cutter celebration. This is exactly why couples who find this place tend to fall hard for it.

Located in Kimball Township, Michigan, Solitude Links Golf Course is right along I69 highway with easy access to Port Huron and I94. It is perfectly secluded without being too far away from everything else.

Why Couples Choose Solitude Links Weddings

Solitude Links sits on rolling terrain that gives you those gorgeous elevated views without feeling like you’re at a country club that takes itself too seriously. The course features mature trees, well-maintained greens, and enough open space that we can work with natural light in about a dozen different ways throughout your wedding day (in just a few short steps by-the-way).

The venue appeals to couples who want something elegant but not stuffy. You get the sophistication of a golf course wedding without the pressure to fit into some cookie-cutter vision of what your day “should” look like. Solitude links is one of the most beautiful golf courses I have photographed at in terms of its esthetic and looks. Being in almost the middle of nowhere, there is a sense of seclusion.

What to Consider for Your Solitude Links Wedding

Golf course weddings require some practical thinking. You’ll want to coordinate with the venue about course play schedules, especially if you’re planning ceremony or photo time during peak golfing hours. Most venues work this out smoothly, but it’s worth discussing early in your planning process.

Weather backup plans matter, just like any outdoor venue. The clubhouse provides that safety net, but you’ll want to think through how your ceremony transitions indoors if needed. The ceremony location at the gazebo right on the lake is just a few short steps to the clubhouse for convenience. Having a clear plan means you won’t spend your morning stressing about rain forecasts.

Luckily, at Solitude Links, the ceremony location has a paved path leading down the aisle. It’s perfect for an outdoor wedding ceremony because you won’t have to worry about walking through grass. Like any wedding that takes place outdoors, consider your guests comfort when it comes to summer weddings and the heat. Consider getting fans for your guests as a little favor to sit on each seat during your ceremony. Make sure your guests know about the elevator, especially elderly family or anyone who struggles with stairs. The Solitude Links clubhouse does sit up high behind the ceremony spot and the stairs to get down are steep. Luckily, they have an elevator for the convenience and safety.
